Governors
Beverley Harrison
Chair of Governors - Co-Opted Governor
Member of Standards, Resources and Performance Management Committees. Link Governor for Pupil Premium and Looked After Children
I am an ex-pupil of the school and have been a School Governor for over 28 years. I taught for 32 years in a Secondary school and finished off as Assistant Head, I’ve worked for the last 5 years as an Educational Consultant and I feel I have a good understanding of governorship and educational matters in general. My role as Chair of Governors at LSAH has offered me the challenge and support to school, ensure the sound financial footing continues and help set out the ethos and values of the school.
Lynne Davies
Vice Chair of Governors - Co-Opted Governor
Member of Standards, Resources, and Performance Management Committees Link Governor for Teaching and Learning, Safeguarding and Educational Visits
Although I was born in East Lancashire I grew up and was educated in Worcestershire. I returned to the North-West in 1978 and am a resident of St Annes. I have a BDes in Interior Design from the Royal College of Art but have had two changes of direction in my professional life; first in teaching and for the last 20 years of my working life I was a bursar in a primary school in Blackpool. I have been on the governing body since 2002; both my children attended LSA which is why I became involved, firstly as a parent governor and more recently as a community governor. I was Chair of the governing body for six years and for the last six years have been Vice-Chair. Having been involved in education in one way or another all my life, I am a firm believer in the importance of good quality education for all. I joined the governing body in the hope that I can contribute to ensuring that LSA continues to improve and develop. I am passionate about the four key values of integrity, endeavour, respect and aspiration and firmly believe that these values have led to a school composed of kind, caring people. My outside interests include family history, travel and walking both in the UK and abroad although the last two have been seriously curtailed over the last couple of years!
Laura Gibbons
Member of Standards Committee - Staff Governor
I am originally from Burscough in West Lancashire and moved to the Fylde coast after starting teaching at LSA. I joined the PE department at LSA in September 2005. I hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Studies from Chester College University. As a PE teacher I try to practice what I preach; playing netball, running, cycling and skiing as often as possible. For the past 15 years I have spent my summers working in America teaching swimming to girls in High School. I am also a qualified ski instructor and spend some of my school breaks instructing children and adults in the Austrian Alps. I enjoy contributing to the development of the school for both the staff and pupils.
Corinne Mason

My name is Corinne Mason. I have a daughter at LSA and two sons Y6 and Y2 primary school age. I have been a primary school teacher since 2004. I am currently leading English throughout school and have worked to enhance reading for pleasure amoingst the children. I have also led Science since 2007 and recently wrote a publication with the Lancashire Science team about outdoor learning. Being outdoors is one of my greatest passions. I am a level three Forest School leader and use this skill to teach across school. I have also led my school to Green Flag status as the Eco Schools lead. My love of outdoors continues in my home life where I enjoy fell walking in the Lake District with my family and running. As a family we enjoy rugby at Fylde and taking care of our menagerie of animals. I am keen to support LSA on the next part of their journey as a parent and invest time in the school.

We currently have a vacancy for one parent governor due to a parent completing their term of office. Parent governors are elected by and from the parents of children currently attending our school. They serve a four-year term of office and bring a very important and valued perspective to the work of the governing body.
The governing body has a vital role to play in making sure every child receives the best possible education. No special qualifications are needed, and the most important thing is to have a keen interest in the school and be prepared to play an active part in the governing body’s work. Training is available for all governors and is free of charge.
Most importantly, we seek parent governors who have a passion for Lytham St Annes High School and are keen to work in a supportive but challenging way with the Senior Leadership of the school, to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality education for children of families in our local community.
If you are interested in becoming a governor and wish to discuss this, please contact the school on 01253 733192 or email the clerk to governors becky.smith@lythamhigh.lancs.sch.uk, alternatively please complete the nomination forms (self-nomination is acceptable) and return to school reception or by 12.00 noon on Monday 21st November 2022.
A printed pack is also available from Main Reception.
If there are more nominations than vacancies than an election may be held and if so, voting papers will be sent..
If you are interested in this opportunity, we would love to hear from you!
